Design & Build contract delivered by Kalmar with a project value of approximately $18 million. The project was designed by Warren and Mahoney and comprised specialist education, laboratory and student amenity spaces.
Stage 2 included the delivery of specialist science laboratory facilities consisting of:
- 3 Physics laboratories
- 4 Biology laboratories
The laboratory fit-out incorporated specialist services and equipment including:
- Autoclaves
- Reverse Osmosis (RO) filtration systems
- Mobile recirculating Class 2 bio-hoods / fume cupboards
- Motorised blackout blinds
The Biology laboratory facilities were designed and constructed to achieve PC1 (Physical Containment Level 1) classification requirements.
The works required coordination of specialist laboratory services, containment requirements, mechanical and hydraulic systems, and architectural finishes within an operational university environment.
